A little about me….
Words to best describe me: passionate, dependable, honest, encouraging, intentional, caring
I’m the oldest of four girls and have been passionate about helping children with unique needs since I was 12 years old. My youngest sister was born with a cleft lip and palate and I watched my parents navigate the unknown of raising a child with a unique need. That experience not only inspired me to pursue the profession of Speech and Language Pathology (speech therapist), it later inspired me to craft my skills of coaching parents.
Over the last 17 years of raising my twins I have explored a variety of parenting strategies and have been able to discern what works best for each of my children as well as my husband and I, and I can promise you it wasn’t that simple. I spent a lot of time in unhealthy cycles of control, second guessing myself and trying to change everyone but myself. I invested in various resources (coursework, books, workshops, counseling, coaching and guidance from friends and family) and all of it lead me to where I’m at now.
My intention as a parent coach is to be a guide to help parents find what works best for their family. I strive to empower and support parents in ways that feel best to them. I hold a space of curiosity and compassion for my clients and teach them how to incorporate these qualities into their own parenting style.
I take a holistic developmental approach to speech therapy meaning that I treat the whole child and family unit. My therapy is centered around what is fun for the child and important to the parent.
What I treat during Speech Therapy:
Late Talkers
Language Delays
Early Intervention
Articulation Disorders
Phonological Disorders
Motor Speech Disorders
Expressive & Receptive Language Disorders
Play & Social Communication Delays
